Cooperation since 1984, in 1985, The Education Commission of Zhejiang Province signed contract with Germany to jointly aid Ningbo University of Technology (then Ningbo College) and since then, two universities began cooperation, so far, we have had more 50 students studying in Aachen University of Applied Sciences and the school leaders and teachers from both sides visit each other often.

| Two Schools jointly established International Exchange College (IEC), formerly overseas education center of Ningbo University of Technology, it was founded in 1998. Its program of English of International Business was jointly established by Ningbo University of Technology and South Western Sydney Institute (SWSI), formerly Southern Sydney Institute (SSI), Australia in 1999. The joint program aims at cultivating practical, all-rounded and foreign-oriented talents in the business management field. Starting from Year 2000, IEC recruits students within the national enrollment plan ratified by the Education Commission of Zhejiang Province. In September 2003, IEC formally became the 10th department of Ningbo University of Technology. Currently it has about 400 full-time students, Besides, IEC has over ten part-time teachers with high academic qualifications and senior professional titles. Each semester, a number of qualified foreign teachers selected by SWSI as directors of study come to IEC to conduct core courses. |
